Walk the walk

Brennon is wanting to pull up now--and as a result we are practicing walking around. He is becoming more adventurous around the furniture and cabinets and so I watch him very closely. He apparently wants to explore the world outside of his bedroom which means each time I put him in there with all his toys...he wants to crawl right back out the door. I took him to Brian's moms place for lunch and he was a little center of attention. As soon as we sat down several residents asked about him. One resident got a little choked up thinking about his own kids when they were that age. So Brennon ate his gerber food and looked happily around with minimum fuss. He was complimented on how neatly he ate his food (he doesn't dribble much) and how happy and cute he was. Linda proudly shared tidbits about him and Brian when he was a little guy and starting to get into computers. Brennon certainly gets his share of attention so I hope he doesn't get a superiority complex from it. I believe he senses when he gets attention and shows out a little bit. I noticed that he was getting more precocious and behaving in a way that he doesn't usually at home.
I myself, am being called in to more service in the children's area of church. Now, I have always done this for as long as I can remember since becoming a member--but lately I have been on hiatus after B's birth. But as the Godfather says....they keep pulling you back in. I don't mind because I honestly should serve according to my spiritual gifts. They always need help in the kids area, too. The director kindly waited until a week after VBS before asking me when I would like to come back and teach ---and as usual I hesitate before agreeing to the task but I probably will. I not that good at saying no when there is no reason to.
I can hardly believe June is over...summer goes by in flash now that I have a child to care for!
